"We have been very happy with our solar panel purchase through One Solar. Solar panels have been a great investment for us and our electric bill is basically non-existent for 3/4 of the year. We did our homework before buying solar, so we knew about tax incentives, did our own electric bill estimation based on recent trends, home value appreciation, and others. A few things we like in particular about One Solar is their customer service, owning the system, and having user-friendly website & app programs to track how much energy the panels are producing. One Solar has always been responsive to our needs. They kept us informed throughout the whole installation process. A couple of times our system wasn't reporting to the app and they were very responsive and prompt in fixing the problem (note: the solar panels were producing energy throughout the whole process, just the system wasn't reporting to the app).
The nice thing about owning the panels is if we ever sell our home we can choose to leave the panels with the home, or move them with us. We did a lot of number crunching and solar made sense for us. This might not be true for everyone, but keep in mind the "value added" portion to your home value (should you ever sell), and if you don't, solar generally saves you money in utilities in the long run. Most people don't have tons of cash lying around, it is best to think of solar (like most bigger purchases), as a true investment.
